Our Need

The Lord is already at work in this community of believers! We are growing, while other urban churches across America are struggling to find ways to stay alive. God has placed us here in downtown Houston and has kept us here to grow us as He expands His kingdom. People are “under construction”, discovering ways to build new lives in Christ.

The Early Childhood Center is busting at the seams. Trinity Lutheran Church & School has been committed to building lives in Christ for over 127 years! As we continue this commitment, our growing ministry has overtaken our means to accommodate the potential ministry. We need to build new spaces where all of that “life-building” can happen. We simply can no longer do what we need to do, or what God might call us to do, with our present space. The proposed Early Childhood Center will provide:

1.  Space to double the enrollment at the Early Childhood Center.

2.  A multi-purpose space for use by the entire church including:

  • A gathering space for a Modern Worship Experience
  • Large indoor play area for the Early Childhood Center
  • Flexible space for Women’s Club, Ladies Circle, and many other groups
  • An area for the youth ministry to hold large events
  • A room large enough to facilitate a large assembly
  • Rehearsal space for music ministries of all ages
  • A space for the community to use and get to know Trinity for the first time

3.  Approximately 105 new parking spaces, new CarCare Maintenance Garage, and beautiful new landscaping throughout the North campus

How can we meet such needs? We need our sense of commitment to grow along with our ministries. We need each person to discover his or her own calling—his or her part—within the church. We need you—and what only you can do—in order to Help Us Grow: our community, our children, our church.
